5 to go. Doable?

Of the 5 remaining games, Navy should be the easiest, but the Irish have struggled against the option. What are the chances we run the table and do we get in with a loss?

  1. Great show/commentary as alwasys! I disagree on the Florida State game, I see the Syracuse and SC games as possible upsets if were not careful. We have FSU at a good time, cold November date and right after they play both Clemson and NC State.
Either way its hard to go undefeated but this team if they stay healthy has the defense and that will travel.
book is really hard to stop especially if they key on the running game and Dexter/Armstrong.

    2. I do agree that the ingredients for going undefeated down the stretch rest with the defense. If we do pull it off, it'll be because of the defense. Our D line is underrated in a big way. They somehow seem to find ways to get to the QB often.

  2. In terms of getting in, to much football left to just think ND is out with a loss, don't underestimate the Michigan situation. I look for them to win out and create a nice situation for us if we have one loss based on the head to head. It s gonna be a lot of fun this next month with the health of our program and our quest for another national chwmoionship.

    1. I think the Tuesday BCS reveal is a bad sign. The committee this year seems to be completely out of left field in their thinking, and I'm not just saying because of ND being 4th. Look at the ACC teams they have in the top 25 and the teams who didn't make it in. What exactly are they saying are the quality wins for the ACC teams that are in?

    2. I think ND being 4th is a non-issue, given that LSU plays 'Bama this weekend. I suppose it sets up a situation where LSU could hold their spot if they lost to 'Bama by a point or in OT, but in the end, there is no way that ND is kept out by a two-loss team. In other words, if LSU beats 'Bama they deserve the 3rd spot, and if they don't beat 'Bama ... they'll never hold a spot ahead of an undefeated ND Team - Never.

  3. Brian Kelly is 6-2 v. Navy - in 2010 they absolutely destroyed us 35-17.

    1. I've always felt Brian Kelly has struggled with the triple option, but hard to complain about being up 27-0 at half. Sloppy 2nd half, I agree but they won by multiple scores against Navy, not easy to do. Let's hope this is a sign for the remainder of the season.
