Irish defeated, but on the rise!

There are no moral victories, I get that. But the Irish have given hope there is the potential to beat the Elite.

  1. I think you have to realize new mexico and georgia wasn't gonna let us run the ball based on formation and forced us to pass, a good coach has to take what the defense allows. I m not convinced we can't run the ball but rather executed what the defense allowed. Were very good, I am concerned how we will play after such a solid game plan and effort vs Georgia.
Virginia is a an excellent offensive team but at home look for the Irish to win a 31-21 type of game. We are very good with turnover margin this year which is a recipe for winning. I m not predicting 11-1 but I am seeing a very good year 10 wins or more, and possible CFB slot. Georgia very well could win out, which is good for us

    1. It'll be interesting to see this weekend now that we're almost at full strength at RB position. Armstrong will be another big lift when he returns. I agree 100%, this will be a difficult win and it will be close, but I think the Irish survive and move on with a win. Go Irish!

  2. Bottom line is were an outstanding and very well coached team, no reason to predict doom and gloom this year.
Offense is explosive and the defense is gonna be better every week, sure we are gonna be challenged but were also gonna blow the doors off a lot of teams similar to 2015

  3. Excellent win over Virginia, really like where our defense is heading and I m confident in the offensive coaching, gonna be a special year again no doubt.
Kmet looks like Gronk out there, would really be surprised if we don't win out,
Defense can really shows up in away games and our kicking game looks solid

  4. All, I carpooled with middle-aged people who went to the Georgia game this past weekend. The couple said: a) GA gave ND Alumni horrible seat selection b) referee issues such an "illegal wedge" c) everything on the jumbodtron was Pro-GA and nothing on ND except maybe fumbling/interception d) jumbo-tron was totally bent toward GA e) human treatment I forgot what they said.

    1. You carpooled with people who don't know much. Opponents aren't about to give ND quality seats -- look at where ND puts its visitors under the 'tron. The "illegal wedge" is a point of emphasis this year with special teams, it's an illegal formation so of course it's going to be called. Of course everything on their 'tron was pro-them, IT'S THEIR JUMBOTRON. What did you expect, a whole bunch of ND commercials?

  5. Does the BG game come at just the right time after playing two top 20 teams? I seem to think so, get healed up before the next round of top 20 teams.
I realize its probably gonna be ugly similar to new mexico, but we do need time to heal

    1. Agree 100%. Couldn't ask for a better time to have this game scheduled. Hopefully, we fix a few more things and are prepped for a 2nd half season run.

  6. Amazing we forced more turnovers (5) than virginia had rushing yards (4), as I mentioned earlier, gonna be a special year sit back and enjoy!

  8. Mike (K), great price on the scheduling since 64'. Amazing the level of Lou Holtz competitiion compared to some of the other coaches (weis) in particular. Maybe an entire show could be discussed on your research?
What are your thoughts on the buy week? Hopefully we can get some much needed reps for some of our backups Saturday.

    1. I personally don't but I believe Frank Leahy back in the 40's went 4 years in a row undefeated.

  11. Will there be a pre USC show? Outside of Georgia this is shaping up to be a pretty porous schedule.

    1. Yes, posting Friday morning. USC and Michigan will be tough games for us. I'd even argue because of the nature of college football, Duke, Navy, Stanford could all be tough games for us. Defense will need to win at least one of these.

  12. Hi guys, do you see a 31-14 type of game (Irish)?
Or is this a perfect trap game? I know its a demanding schedule playing 4 ranked teams out of 5 with Georgia and Virginia.

    1. I think it's going to be a tight game. USC has plenty of talent in key positions. Rivalry game. Defense will need to win this game and I think they will. 27-20 Irish

  13. The current home winning streak is 14, the third longest in school history since 1930. (Frank Leahy won 28 straight from 1942-50; Lou Holtz went 19 straight from 87-90)

  14. I'm gonna take a different view, considering the cold weather and Clay Helton on the road.
41-17 Irish, i just dont see this team as well coached
as ND or the same desire. the bye week helps them, but just dont see them having a lot of success.
